Merusha is committed to life-long learning hence it's no surprise she qualified as a Chartered Accountant with an MBA from The University of the Witwatersrand by the age of 29. Merusha was the first female director at the Group at the age of 30, as well as the youngest amongst her business partners.

The largest Business in the Group is an Entity called Drinks Dispense Services (DDS). DDS specialises in installing, cleaning, maintaining beverage (Draught/Fountain) and refrigeration equipment. Their biggest clients are SAB, CCBSA and Unilever. DDS has national footprint while E.O.E.C has a footprint in several African countries.

The DDS strategy is not to just be a preferential supplier to its customers but to be a value-adding partner. These value-added services are in different forms, one being collecting data in every aspect of their operations hence their clients have the benefit of having access to quality real-time data. DDS considers itself a responsible citizen of South Africa and pride themselves on being a level 2 BBBEE contributor.

In 2017 Merusha partnered with the SAB Thrive Fund to obtain Equity in DDS. Since then, the SAB Thrive Fund has not only helped Merusha get her seat at the table but assisted with obtaining interest-free funding to purchase a new fleet of vehicles and provide introductions to prospective clients. Over the year, the SAB Thrive Fund has also assisted with providing insights with regards to compliance and strategy.

She believes no dream is too big if you are willing to believe in yourself and work hard. Anything is achievable.

Merusha is passionate about small businesses and spends a substantial amount of her time assisting entrepreneurs needing support. She believes it's her way of supporting someone else's dream like how her dreams were achieved with the help of her E.O.E.C business partners and Thrive.

Merusha says when life stresses take over and you want to give up just remember "It always seems impossible, until its done." - Nelson Mandela.
